For those companies and corporations engaged in the Rent-a-Car Business it sure makes a lot of sense to develop a strong community good will strategy using a top notched public relations program.
Many people may not realize this but after 911 the Rent-a-Car Companies saved so many stranded travelers.
The commercial airliners were shut down for nearly a week, New York City was a disaster area and the whole world kind of shut down.
It was in fact The Rent-a-Car Companies, which picked up the slack, as Greyhound was overloaded and no one could get home.
Public Relations for Rent-a-Car Companies should include such reminders so Americans do not forget their value to our nation, as they add a much needed transportation redundancy.
Often automotive related businesses get a bad rap and it is truly undeserved.
Some get a bad rap due to the perception of auto dealer sales people.
Other reasons include the high cost of fuel, neither of which have anything to do with the Rent-a-Car Companies, but nevertheless guilt by association can add to the perception of an industry you see.
This is one reason that both regional and national car rental companies need to figure out ways to promote community good will and develop a Public Relations strategy for their Rent-a-Car Company outlets.
